“Turcite B” is a widely used name for PTFE-based slideway liner material — a low-friction bearing tape bonded to the ways and gibs of machine tools. It is so common in machine tool repair that the name is often used generically, even though Turcite and Slydway are registered trademarks of a well-known sealing company.
Why look for a Turcite B replacement?
- Supply lead times from the branded source can be long, especially for small quantities.
- Rebuilders often need a compatible material with equivalent performance at a better price.
- A replacement must bond the same way — a chemically etched PTFE surface accepting epoxy adhesive.
- Color-coded thickness identification (Blue / Green / Brown / Brick Red) keeps workshop practice consistent.
How TEBAK SLIDEWAY compares
TEBAK SLIDEWAY is a compatible replacement material engineered to the same operating profile: skived PTFE compound with fillers, one side chemically etched for bonding. It is supplied in the same familiar color scheme and standard widths used across the industry.
